The 12 nights between Christmas on December 24th and 25th and the day of the Three Wise Men on January 6th are known as the Rauhnächte. In the past, this period was also known as the "smoke nights". Even before Christianity was the predominant religion in this country, the ritual of burning incense was practiced. The intention was to drive away evil spirits and demons, welcome good spirits and cleanse houses. The Rauhnächte are the time for wishes and visions; from time immemorial, this mid-winter period, when people retreat, reflect, return, let go of the old and plan new things, has been regarded as a time full of spirituality. During the Rauhnächte, the gates to the Otherworld are wide open. This time connects us with our ancestors, angels, light beings and gods. It is the time to reshape your destiny, the time of oracles, expulsions, dissolution and new beginnings. Rituals performed during the Rauhnächte are particularly powerful and effective. Traditionally, people would go through their house and home with cleansing herbs to rid the home of old burdens and ensure positive energy. What you dream in the second Rauhnacht reveals what is important / could happen in February and so on. According to custom, you should open all the windows on the last Rauhnacht, send the evil spirits out and invite the good ones in. Important According to superstition, you should never do this during the Rauhnächte: Laundry You should not do laundry during the Rauhnächte. Because according to superstition, you will bring misfortune or even death into your home. The superstition says the following: If the sheets flutter on the line between Christmas and New Year, something bad could happen - such as the death of a loved one. During the Rauhnächte, the souls of the dead and demons buzz around. They get caught up in the laundry blowing in the wind and bring disaster into the house with the sheets or items of clothing. Cutting hair / nails You must not cut your nails or hair, otherwise you will get gout or a headache the following year. Borrowed items You must make sure that everything you have lent out during the year is back at home these days. Borrowed items must be returned. Air your bed You must not air your bed outdoors, otherwise you will become seriously ill. Whistle You must not whistle in the morning, otherwise you will bring bad luck. You must not work with things that turn You must not spin or sew, only witches do that. The washing machine, coffee grinder, corn mill or spinning wheel also have something to do with spinning and must not be operated. There are various explanations for this popular belief. One belief is that evil spirits could get caught in wheels or things that turn. Working You must not work, otherwise bad luck will befall your home and farm. Buttons If buttons fall off your clothes during this time, you will lose a lot of money in the coming year. Doors Do not slam doors loudly, otherwise there will be a thunderstorm. Früher wurde diese Zeit auch „Rauch-Nächte“ genannt. Schon bevor das Christentum hierzulande die vorherrschende Religion war, wurde das Ritual des Räucherns gelebt. Dadurch sollten böse Geister und Dämonen vertrieben, gute Geister willkommen geheißen, aber auch die Häuser gereinigt werden. Die Rauhnächte sind die Zeit für Wünsche und Visionen,von alters her gilt diese mittelwinterliche Zeit, in der man sich zurückzieht, besinnt, einkehrt, das Alte loslässt und Neues plant, als eine Zeit voller Spiritualität. In den Rauhnächten stehen die Tore zur Anderswelt weit offen. Diese Zeit verbindet uns mit unseren Ahnen, Engeln, Lichtwesen und Göttern. Es ist die Zeit um sein Schicksal neu zu gestalten, die Zeit der Orakel, Vertreibungen, der Auflösung und des Neubeginns. Rituale die in den Rauhnächten vollzogen werden, sind besonders stark und wirkungsvoll. Die Rauhnächte beherbergen das ganze kommende Jahr in sich, daher sollte man diese Zeit wachsam und vorsichtig begehen. Jeder ist selber der Schöpfer seines Schicksals und dafür verantwortlich, welche Weichen in den Nächten des zukünftigen Schicksals gelegt werden. Bereite Dich mit den Dunkelnächten auf die Rauhnächte vor. Sie beginnen vom 9. Dezember und enden an der Wintersonnenwende am 22. Dezember.
Rituale für die Rauhnächte Für die Rauhnächte gibt es allerlei Bräuche und Rituale. Es heißt, dass in diesen 12 Nächten die Tore zur Anderswelt weit offen stehen und dass es in dieser Zeit besonders leicht ist, mit Ahnen, Engeln und Göttern Kontakt aufzunehmen. Ein in den Rauhnächten vollzogenes Ritual soll besonders kraftvoll und wirksam sein. Räuchern Die Rauhnächte sind die Zeit des Räucherns. Traditionell ging man mit reinigenden Kräuterm durch Haus und Wohnung, um das Zuhause von Altlasten zu befreien und für eine positive Energie zu sorgen. In der Vergangenheit wurde gerne mit Weihrauch geräuchert, da dies die bösen Geister vertreiben sollte. Man kann aber auch gerne während der Rauhnächte mit Salbei oder Palo Santo räuchern. Am Besten ist es, wenn man sich beim Räuchern während der Rauhnächte ganz auf seine Intuition verlässt. Jeder weiß, was für ihm selbst und seinem Haus gut tut. Die Zukunft voraussagen In den Rauhnächten kann man für das kommende Jahr die Zukunft voraussagen. Jede Rauhnacht steht für einen Monat des neuen Jahres. In alten Tagen wurden die Nächte zwischen den Jahren genutzt, um einen Blick in die Zukunft zu werfen. Während der Rauhnächte sind unsere Träume besonders intensiv und geben Rückschlüsse über die Zukunft. Das Tor zur Ahnenwelt ist weit geöffnet. Jede Rauhnacht entspricht einem Monat des kommenden Jahres. Was man also in der ersten Rauhnacht träumt, verrät, was im Januar geschehen wird. Das was man in der zweiten Rauhnacht träumt, verrät, was im Februar wichtig ist / passieren könnte und so weiter. Für die Traumdeutung notiert man sich am besten während der Rauhnächte jeden Morgen nach dem Aufwachen seine Träume. Dabei sollte besonders auf wiederkehrende Symbole, auffällige Situationen oder Emotionen geachtet werden. Am besten alles genau aufschreiben. Notiere einfach alles, was Du in dieser Zeit an Botschaften erhältst.
13 Wünsche Hierfür werden zu Beginn der Rauhnächte 13 Wünsche auf kleinen Zetteln notiert, die dann zusammengefaltet in eine Box oder alternativ in einen Beutel gepackt werden. Ab dem 24. Dezember wird dann jeden Abend ein Zettel gezogen und ungeöffnet in einer Feuerschale verbrannt. Man vertraut darauf, dass sich nun eine höhere Macht um die Erfüllung dieses Wunsches kümmern wird. Am Ende der Rauhnächte bleibt der 13. Wunsch übrig. Dies ist der Wunsch, für dessen Erfüllung man nach dem Brauch selbst verantwortlich ist. Die Nacht vom 5. Jänner zum 6. Jänner ist besonders wichtig, um Überflüssiges, unnötig Altes oder Belastendes aus dem vergangenen Jahr zu entsorgen. In dieser Nacht kann man die bösen Geister der Vergangenheit vertreiben und gleichzeitig gute Kräfte beschwören. In der letzten Rauhnacht, so der Brauch, soll man alle Fenster öffnen, die bösen Geister hinaus schicken und die guten herein bitten. Das Ritual für diese Nacht: Öffne um Mitternacht Türen und Fenster um Segen in Dein Haus zu lassen. Der Dreikönigswind ist ein heiliger Wind, der das Haus segnet. Wichtig Das sollte man während der Rauhnächte nach dem Aberglauben auf keinen Fall tun : Wäsche waschen In der Zeit der Rauhnächte soll man keine Wäsche waschen. Denn laut Aberglaube holt man sich sonst Unheil oder gar den Tod ins Haus. Der Aberglaube besagt folgendes: flattern zwischen den Weihnachtstagen und Neujahr die Laken auf der Leine, könne etwas Schlimmes passieren – etwa der Tod eines Angehörigen. In den Rauhnächten schwirren die Seelen Verstorbener und Dämonen umher. In der im Wind wehenden Wäsche verfangen sie sich und bringen mit den Laken oder Kleidungsstücken Unheil ins Haus. Haare / Nägel schneiden Man darf sich nicht die Nägel oder die Haare schneiden, sonst bekommt man im nächsten Jahr Gicht oder Kopfweh. Geliehenes Man muss sich darum kümmern, dass alles, was man übers Jahr verliehen hat, in diesen Tagen wieder zuhause ist. Geliehenes muss man zurückgeben. Bett lüften Man darf sein Bett nicht im Freien lüften, sonst wird man schwer krank. Pfeifen Man darf in der Frühe nicht pfeifen, sonst beschwört man Unglück herauf. Man darf nicht mit Dingen arbeiten, die sich drehen Es darf nicht gesponnen oder genäht werden, das tun nur die Hexen. Auch die Waschmaschine, Kaffeemühle, Kornmühle oder das Spinnrad haben etwas mit drehen zu tun und dürfen nicht betätigt werden. Es gibt verschiedene Erklärungen für diesen Volksglauben. Ein Glaube besagt, dass sich böse Geister in Rädern oder in Dingen, die sich drehen, verfangen könnten. Arbeiten Man darf nicht arbeiten, sonst kommt Unglück über Heim und Hof. Knöpfe Wenn einem Knöpfe von der Kleidung in dieser Zeit abfallen, wird man viel Geld im kommenden Jahr verlieren. Türen Man darf die Türen nicht laut zuschlagen, sonst gibt es ein Gewitter. Nichts fallen lassen Pass auf, dass nichts herunterfällt, denn das bedeutet einen Verlust im nächsten Jahr. Nicht fegen oder putzen Das soll Ungeziefer oder Krankheiten anlocken.
