In what way does Solubia ensure that only the residual amount of first milk is actually used and that nothing is taken away from the calves ? The fact that a calf cannot survive without colostrum ensures this. Losing a calf is a great loss for the farmer. In this regard, it is important to know that all cloven-hoofed animals have no chance of survival if they do not receive colostrum. They are born without an adequate immune system and need colostrum to jump start their lives. Colostrum is, so to speak, the immunological image of the mother cow with pre-immunized antibodies, growth factors for healthy development and other important peptides and enzymes that are essential for survival. To avoid the harm of loss, the calf is always fed first and only the remainder, after the calf stops drinking, must be milked. This is then safely stored and fed into our production.
What makes skin care with organic colostrum so special ? Growth factors control the replication and function of cells, including skin cells. This alone is a sensation and already known in the cosmetics industry. What is added is even more remarkable. The growth factors contained in bio-colostrum in particular are capable of activating stem cells in the skin, and this is an actual rejuvenation of the skin that cannot be compared to anything else. Organic colostrum naturally contains significantly more immunoglobulins. These are antibodies that selectively fight against pathogenic germs and other pathogens. They thus protect and repair the skin's microbiome, acting as almost prebiotic. For which people or skin types is Solubia suitable? Basically for any skin type. There are differences only for skin prone to dryness. But for this purpose we have developed the more lipid EGF face cream, which optimally nourishes dry skin with valuable lipids. It can be applied after the EGF serum and thus enhances the effect. How have the demands and needs of customers changed in recent years ? We observe something that makes us very happy. For decades, the cosmetics industry made consumers believe that you absolutely needed a day cream, night cream, mask, peeling, serum, lotion, toner and, and, and. Therefore, at that time there were also cosmetic cabinets, which, thank God, are slowly disappearing from the beautiful bathrooms. It was recognized over time that you need a maximum of 4 products, consisting of cleansing, deep care (serum or fluid), cream and body lotion. There is no need for more, and this is also our philosophy. We have also noticed that natural cosmetics, especially 100% natural cosmetics, have long ceased to be niche products. The market has changed incredibly here, so that even luxury brands are slowly starting to think about the sustainability of ingredients. These demands, which have now grown in breadth, present the industry with almost insurmountable tasks, all of which we as small manufacturers have already solved.
Have the products already been certified or do you intend to obtain certification? We will definitely not do a certification by the international or German well-known certifiers. We do not want to support these lax and industry-friendly marketing tools. What we will strive for this year, however, are official efficacy studies via e.g. Dermatest. This will then allow us to communicate with their test results, conclusively to the outside world. Please tell us a bit about the production process. What are the biggest challenges here? The biggest challenge is not to talk about the production secrets. Followed immediately by the challenge of maintaining the bioactivity of the colostral active ingredients. Growth factors and immunoglobulins, as well as many other active ingredients in colostrum, are peptides, and these easily denature when incorrectly processed and in contact with certain cosmetic ingredients. If you manage, as we do, to preserve the bioactivity in the finished product, which, by the way, can also be measured analytically, you also preserve the effect of the colostrum. What does naturopathy mean to you personally? How did you discover your passion for it, is there possibly a personal story of suffering behind it? Naturopathy is the oldest healing science and one of the oldest known remedies is colostrum, which was already called the healing drink of the gods 8,000 years ago in Mesopotamia. Today we know that much ancient knowledge has unfortunately been irretrievably lost. Conventional medicine follows a different path of healing, and man is either pro or contra. I am glad that both exist, and both fields have their right to exist. As stated before, yes, there is a history of suffering behind it that usually leads to death. It was not the case with me, I dealt deeply with the subject, the causes and therapy methods. I decided at that time for the way of the naturopathy around the allegedly unstoppable to delay. Nevertheless, even then I could not avoid taking conventional painkillers. So it was rather a mixture. What ultimately led to the fact that I am still here and can enjoy a wonderful life, I dare not say. How important is sustainability in the production of Solubia? For us, sustainability already begins with the procurement of raw materials. With a few exceptions, these all come from Europe. Organic colostrum from Bavaria and Austria, rosemary, almond and orange oil from Italy, aloe vera from Spain, to name a few examples. The flacons are all produced in Germany and France, so short distances and they are 100% recyclable. All inks are solvent-free and all paper and box materials are made from FSC certified sustainable wood. When it comes to sustainability, there is still an incredible amount to do, and this is also a constant topic we are working on. In March, for example, we will finally have a refill pack for the Eye Fluid that can be used hygienically and is, of course, much more resource-friendly. Will there also be sustainable packaging for your products in the future? The sticking point here is the airless dispensers, which we have to use in order to avoid synthetic preservatives. There have been numerous attempts to produce such dispensers from recyclate (recycled plastic) and unfortunately all have failed. What we are working on, and as I just said, we have already succeeded with one product, are hygienically flawless refills. In the area of dispensers for EGF serum, EGF balm and EGF face cream, there are already excellent approaches that will soon go into series production. However, I am unfortunately not yet able to name a date for the changeover, because a great deal still has to be tested for this. Safety simply comes first. What tips would you give my readers to help them bring even more sustainability and closeness to nature into their everyday lives? I've been driving public only for over 10 years, I see this as the most important tip that I can only recommend. I can get almost anywhere by public, I am always rested and perfectly prepared for a meeting. This has only advantages and is one of the most environmentally friendly ways to travel, next to the horse. Finally, will you tell me what we can expect at Solubia in the coming months? We are working on a mild cleansing milk with a proportion of organic colostrum. This is a big challenge and not easy to implement. With a lot of luck, we will achieve it this year. Otherwise, we are constantly working on improvements to the formulas, but as things stand today, nothing is likely to change. We have not been able to improve anything.
Wir beobachten etwas, was uns sehr freut.

In 2020, Ning Li launched the sustainable natural cosmetic brand Typology Paris. What motivated you to found Typology? What is special about the brand and what distinguishes it from other natural cosmetics? They are two reasons that led me create Typology, a new player in the cosmetics sector. The first reason is personal. Indeed, at the birth of my daughter, I, like many parents, paid very special attention to the care products that I applied on her. In the face of endless and incomprehensible lists of ingredients I began to do some research and I quickly realized that some of these products were controversial. I made the decision to pursue this research and became fascinated with the industry. Then I discovered a sometimes opaque industry, based on outdated business practices and disconnected from the new expectations and concerns of consumers. The second reason is therefore entrepreneurial. I made the observation that today the innovations in this sector come from abroad, which to my mind is a shame because France is the country of cosmetics. Therefore, I decided to create a French brand, renewing the desire for transparency, naturalness, efficiency and simplicity that consumers demand. In the lineage of MADE.COM Typology is a 100% digital brand removing all intermediaries between us and the customer. Indeed there are a lot of brands out there. From my point of view what makes Typology unique is our 3 core value: No one-size-fit-all: we design targeted product for specific skin concern. Only what works: we always use a high concentration of natural active ingredients. When a natural option does not exist we go for a safe and efficient synthetic molecule. Safety first: we have one of the strictest blacklists in the market. We decided to exclude a lot of ingredients that we think are harmful for your skin and the planet. How long did it take for your idea to manifest as a finished product range? We are a young and agile company, which allows us to move faster than other larger companies. In fact, the product design time is greatly reduced because we don't have the long processes of the big groups. Between the idea, the design, the tests in laboratories and the marketing we generally have a period of 9 months to 1 year. Our internal laboratory allows us to save a considerable amount of time. Which active ingredients set the tone in Typology’s care? There are several, we use in several of our products, several active ingredients, vitamin C, zinc, squalane... The one that is one of our flagship ingredients is undoubtedly hyaluronic acid. We use it for its moisturizing properties. Most ingredients of cosmetic products are incomprehensible, and seem scary to some end users. Is that why Typology is transparent ? Indeed, this is one of the reasons why we created Typology. Today, in the cosmetics industry, when you return a product, you have a long and often incomprehensible list of ingredients. On average, a cosmetic product has between 20 and 30 ingredients. At Typology, we wanted to shorten the list of ingredients, to leave only what is essential to the product, and we explain what each ingredient in the formula is used for. What role does sustainability play in your company? We do our best to leave no trace of our products or brand in the environment. At every step of the production process, we use recyclable materials and sustainable transport. The same goes for materials. We use glass for smaller packaging and recyclable plastic for the larger ones, so they're not too heavy. But we're always looking for innovative non-plastic alternatives. Our tubes are aluminium. It's light, durable and the only material that can be recycled repeatedly without losing its quality. Best of all, air can't get into it, so our products stay fresh and you can squeeze out every last drop too. We keep our containers flat for shipping which means smaller packages fit through your mailbox and leave a lower carbon footprint. You can also reuse and upcycle most of them at home. What criteria do you use to select suppliers? We're tireless in our mission to hunt down the best ingredients. Whether in France, around Europe or further afield in search of exotic extracts, they must be sourced from sustainable farms using gentle extraction techniques. How do you think consumer attitudes towards natural and vegan cosmetics will change in the coming years ? Today's consumers are much more demanding and much more informed. They want to buy from brands that have the same values as they do. They want to buy from brands that are committed to the environment, to the animal cause, but also to human well-being and more inclusive. This trend is not going to go away and on the contrary it will increase. Are there any groundbreaking trends in the field of natural cosmetics? The next big trend in natural cosmetics is super ingredients. Ingredients with a high content of active ingredients such as matcha, acai, turmeric... will be highlighted. What is your personal wish when you think about the future of your company? The development of the brand internationally is our priority at Typology.
Welche Rolle spielt Nachhaltigkeit in Deinem Unternehmen?
